At CareFix Appliance Repair, we provide refrigerator repair across the Tri-Valley, Contra Costa and the Peninsula. When a fridge stops cooling, leaks or ices over, your groceries are at stake. Our technician finds the actual fault at your home and gives you a written estimate before any repair begins.
Find your symptom. Each one starts with the same step: a diagnosis at your home.

Don’t see your symptom? Tell us what the refrigerator is doing when you book.
One symptom, several possible causes. A fridge that isn’t cooling could have a failed fan, a frosted coil or a bad relay, and swapping parts without testing costs you money while the fault stays put.
We work out of San Ramon and serve the Tri-Valley, Contra Costa County, the Peninsula and Palo Alto. Pick your county to see its cities, or confirm your address with us.

Customers describe visits elsewhere that end in a vague answer, or a fix that fails again weeks later. CareFix works the other way.
Hundreds of five-star reviews across Google, Yelp and Thumbtack. Here are ten from our Google profile.
“Excellent service. I will use CareFix again and recommend them to others. Our refrigerator died suddenly and as you might imagine, it’s very stressful. Just the loss of food can be expensive but nothing compared to a new refrigerator. I found CareFix online and once I requested service Luke contacted me right away and come out very quickly. Luke was professional and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the problems and explained it to me and answered any questions I had. The repair costs would have been quite high. Luke urged me to contact the manufacturer because the warranty likely had not expired. I did contact them and the refrigerator will be fixed at no cost to me. If it all works out Luke will have saved me thousands of dollars. I can’t thank Luke enough for the work, the information and the advice. He is very personable and thoughtful and made a stressful situation manageable. He even put on shoe covers when he came in the house.”
The $75 service call covers the in-home diagnosis and a written estimate, and we waive it when you approve the repair. We don’t quote repair prices before diagnosis, because the cost depends on which part failed.
The usual causes are a failed evaporator or condenser fan, a frosted evaporator coil or a bad start relay. Your technician tests each one at your home to find which.
A failed fan, relay or defrost part is usually worth repairing. If the compressor has failed on a 15-year-old unit, replacement is often the better spend, and we will tell you so.
We offer same-day or next-day appointments when available, and we answer the phone 24/7. Call (925) 633-6391 or book online and we will set a time with you.
You pay the $75 service call, which covers the diagnosis and the written estimate. That is the only charge.
Your technician explains which part failed. You approve the written estimate first, and if a part has to be ordered, we come back to complete the repair.
Yes. A wine cooler visit works the same way: a $75 service call covering diagnosis and a written estimate, waived when you approve the repair.
