At CareFix Appliance Repair, we provide stove repair for gas and electric ranges across the Tri-Valley, Contra Costa and the Peninsula. When a burner won’t light or the oven stays cold, dinner stops. Our technician diagnoses the fault at your range and walks you through it in plain language.
Gas stove repair and electric range repair start the same way: matching your symptom to a short list of parts.

Not sure which one matches? Describe it when you call and we will book the right visit.
One symptom can have several causes. A burner that won’t light might need an igniter, a clean burner port or a new spark module, and guessing means paying for parts you didn’t need. We test first and replace only what failed.
We’re based in San Ramon and cover the Tri-Valley, central and east Contra Costa, and the Peninsula from San Bruno to Mountain View. In Alameda and Santa Clara counties we serve the Tri-Valley and the mid-Peninsula. Confirm your address before you book.

You choose the time, and you make the final call. Here is the path from your first call to a working range.
Repairs that go wrong follow a pattern: a visit with no clear answer, a part swapped on a guess, a push to replace something fixable. The reviews below describe the opposite.
Reviews from CareFix customers on Google, published as written.
“Excellent service. I will use CareFix again and recommend them to others. Our refrigerator died suddenly and as you might imagine, it’s very stressful. Just the loss of food can be expensive but nothing compared to a new refrigerator. I found CareFix online and once I requested service Luke contacted me right away and come out very quickly. Luke was professional and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the problems and explained it to me and answered any questions I had. The repair costs would have been quite high. Luke urged me to contact the manufacturer because the warranty likely had not expired. I did contact them and the refrigerator will be fixed at no cost to me. If it all works out Luke will have saved me thousands of dollars. I can’t thank Luke enough for the work, the information and the advice. He is very personable and thoughtful and made a stressful situation manageable. He even put on shoe covers when he came in the house.”
The $75 service call covers an in-home diagnosis and a written estimate, and we waive it when you approve the repair. We don’t quote repair prices before a technician has seen the range.
A clicking burner with no flame usually has a worn igniter, a clogged burner port or a failed spark module. Check that the burner cap sits flat and dry, then call us if it still won’t light.
On a gas range the usual cause is a failed igniter. On an electric range it’s usually the bake element or the temperature sensor. A technician tests each part to confirm which one failed.
Often yes, when the fault is a single part such as an igniter, element or sensor. If the control board and other major parts are failing, we tell you replacement may be the better spend.
Yes. We repair the appliance itself, including burners, igniters, elements, sensors and controls. Gas supply lines and household wiring sit outside the appliance and need a gas fitter or electrician.
Leave the home, then call your gas utility or 911 from outside. Don’t flip switches or use flames. Once the utility clears the leak, book us if the range is the source.
